This is a FREE event that we put on once a month, usually the last Saturday of the month. It starts promptly at 1pm and lasts for about an hour depending on how many people show up. Its for kids of all ages to come show off their rocks/crystals and trade ones that aren’t their favorite for new ones that they will love!
What rocks/crystals should you bring? Any of them that you are thinking about trading.
If you don’t have rocks, where can you get some to trade? We, of course, would love to help you start you rock collection. In the store we sell $5 fill up bags that would be perfect for this. We also have gem mining starting at $6. On Rock Trading Club days, our Gem Mining is 10% off! But you could find cool rocks everywhere, possibly even in your own driveway. Just make sure you aren’t picking up rocks that belong to someone else.
If I come and don’t like what’s being offered, do I have to trade? Of course not. We want everyone to leave happy. Come see what’s available and try to work out a trade. We encourage parents to stay and help make sure the trades are fair. And if there is ever any doubt our own Miss Lori (or another staff member) is always on hand to help answer questions.
Why are we doing this? We love rocks! Really we do! And we want to show off the beauty of them to the kids. Many of us had our own rock collection as kids and we enjoyed getting together with friends, seeing what they had and working out trades. We still enjoy looking at new rocks, I mean have you seen where we work???
