Presentation Description
The mission of the Lake Michigan Coastal Program is to protect and enhance coastal resources by providing technical and financial assistance to partners. The program area includes the Lake Michigan watershed and 45 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline (15 miles National Park). It is a coordinated program housed in the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Nature Preserves. The program also manages an annual competitive Pass-Through grants program which has invested over $22M since 2002 in Northwest Indiana with a match investment of approximately $44M.
Biography
Ashely Sharkey is the special projects coordinator with the Lake Michigan Coastal Program (LMCP). She formerly worked as an environmental manager for the Indiana Department of Transportation for four years. She has worked in a wide variety of fields including education and health care. Ashley received her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in Geography (meteorology/climatology) and Natural Resources and Environmental Management (emergency response and management). She is currently working on her master’s degree in emergency epidemiology. When she is not studying, she rescues former racing greyhounds, chases storms to collect data for the National Weather Service, works on her historical novel about Harriet Colfax and the old Michigan City lighthouse, or listens to professional Japanese baseball. She also volunteers with a local search and rescue team as well as a hazmat emergency response team.

Regular registration runs through May 4th. An additional $5 late registration fee will be added to the ticket price after that date.
Check-in begins at 11:15AM the day of the luncheon.
Refunds cannot be issued if cancellations are made less than 48 hours prior to the event. If the "pay at the door" option is utilized and the reservation is not honored or cancelled prior to 48 hours before the event, payment is still expected, and an invoice will be sent.
There is no need to print tickets or bring them with you.

• All participants should follow everyday preventative actions to help prevent the spread of germs such as washing hands often and/or using hand sanitizer.
• Participants will quickly abide by enforcement measures requested.
