Garlic Growing Workshop

In addition to enhancing your favorite dishes with it's versatility and flavor, garlic also provides proven health benefits. Join us in the Saxe room to learn everything you need to know about growing garlic!

Did you know it takes about 8-9 months for garlic to grow from planting to harvest? Garlic planted in the fall before the ground freezes will produce a beautiful summer crop. Our presenter Dave Johnson will share his extensive knowledge to teach how to choose your garlic, prepare your soil, and care for it through the seasons.

Dave has farmed fruits and vegetables for close to 20 years on both the east and west coasts of the US, with 5 of these years spent focused on commercial garlic seed production. Through a commitment to regenerative and organic farming practices, Dave has a passion for growing beautiful, nourishing food for those who need it most. Since 2018, Dave has managed agricultural operations across 50 acres on behalf of Community Harvest Project, a local non-profit committed to growing fresh fruits and vegetables for hunger relief.
