Many yoga practitioners regularly report feeling tired and even chronically exhausted after a full night’s sleep. Few of us know how to rest and are on sensory overload without even knowing it! We are often at the mercy of what’s happening in the external world, with endless distractions like social media, work emails, household chores, and busy schedules filled with meetings, appointments, and errands. We also often feel at the mercy of thoughts, feelings, and emotions. It’s easy to lose sight of how sensory-driven and pleasure-seeking we’ve become.
While we can’t change the external world, we can train and manage our five senses through regular practice (called abhyasa in the yoga tradition). We can create little daily habits that, if practiced regularly, can transform us.
This workshop is designed to make yoga and relaxation practices accessible to everyone. Practitioners will learn the following concepts and techniques:
Healthy detachment (known as vairagya in yoga)
How to simplify input received from the external world to manage distractions
Differentiating between good and bad stress for a more relaxed state of mind.
The art of slowing down and learning to train our minds to move from external to internal.
The five senses, how they work, and how we can manage them to feel more balanced.
Simple yoga asanas and breathing exercises to be done daily to help manage stress.
It is possible to develop simple yet life-changing daily habits that can bring about a profound shift in well-being.
Cost: $45
