Fort Griffin Star Party

Come experience the magic of the night sky at one of the darkest and clearest stargazing spots in all of Texas! Local astronomers will be on hand to guide you through the wonders above using telescopes and other equipment. See planets, nebulae, distant galaxies, and maybe even a shooting star or two — all from the wide-open skies of Fort Griffin.

Thanks to our remote location, Fort Griffin offers incredible visibility with minimal light pollution — a perfect backdrop for exploring the cosmos.

This special evening program will take place in the astronomy area behind the Visitor Center. Space is limited and RSVPs are required. Please call ahead to reserve your spot and pre-pay your admission. After-hours entry will be granted through a custom gate code assigned to each family at the time of reservation.
