KoKo Does Jazz is a sizzling five-piece jazz outfit fronted by songwriter and soulful songbird Kachina Lewis as she steps boldly into the world of jazz and blues.
Known for her powerhouse vocals from Taurine Music and Ministry of Sound (UK), Kachina is joined by some of the South Coast’s finest jazz talent: Kelvin Haisman weaving bright, dazzling lines on keys; Mark Holderkeeping with his simmering saxophone tones; Bertie McMahon laying down deep, grooving foundations on double bass and bass guitar; and the ever-dynamic Nathan Edwards, bringing rhythmic fireworks on drums.
KoKo Does Jazz serves up a rich degustation of hot jazz and blues classics—think Nina Simone, Amy Winehouse, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Shirley Horn, Mitty Collier, Muddy Waters, Jr. Walker & The All Stars, Ray Charles, Ben E. King, Ruth Brown, Sade, and more.
