Wollongong, get ready – on Friday 12th September, the walls of Waves will be shaking as 19-Twenty bring their thunderous Hips Tour to town, celebrating 10 years of the fan-favourite track “Hips” – the stomping, sweat-drenched anthem that launched a thousand dancefloors.
Known for their wildly energetic live shows, blistering slide guitar, and a rhythm section that doesn’t quit, 19-Twenty have spent more than a decade carving their name into the national touring circuit. From heaving festival stages to rowdy late-night bars, they’ve become a must-see live act for fans of blues, roots and rock with a wild edge.
Now, they’re throwing a birthday party for the song that first sent crowds into overdrive. “‘Hips’ was the song that changed everything for us,” says frontman Kane Dennelly. “It was gritty, groovy, and it got people dancing in places where dancing was basically illegal. So we’re bringing it back to the stage and giving it the celebration it deserves – and Waves is the perfect place to do it.”
