This coming weekend will be the first of our two final open weekends for this year. The dates are September 6, 7, 13, and 14, and the opening hours are 10am to 4pm each day. There is an entry fee of $7 for adults and children; no charge applies.
We will have lots of native plants for sale as well, with prices ranging from $5 for tubestock to $110 for large grafted standards. EFTPOS facilities are available. The chapel will also be open, with a good range of books for sale or browsing, including our own book on the park.
There is free parking just outside the park. For those of you coming on Sunday, the 14th, please note that markets will be on at the adjacent showground. Let the parking attendants know you are coming up to the park to avoid being sent to their parking area, which is some distance from the park's entry.
Toilets, picnic areas, and BBQ facilities are available here as well, so bring a picnic and enjoy the sunshine. The walk out to the Big Blackbutt will also be open. The park is looking wonderful at the moment, with peak flowering time for the larger flowered tropical Grevilleas, making it ideal for photography, bird watching, or just sitting and enjoying the perfumed air and spring warmth. One of our volunteers, Ben, took the photos for this week's post.
