Sugarloaf Community Theatre is so excited to announce Queen of the Library as our summer musical for 2025!! Queen of the Library is a quirky comedy for all ages with music by our very own Executive Director and Founder, Seamus Schwaba, and lyrics by Isobel Kunshek! The show follows two teenagers who go to the library for a study session and end up meeting a group of wacky and ghostly mentors who strive to teach them new life lessons. The show has a wide range of larger than life, goofy characters, so come out and audition on June 23 with a time slot between 6:30 and 9:00 pm! All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be held at Central Lutheran Church.
All adults and children 12+ are welcome to audition on June 23 and if cast, participate free of charge. Please prepare and bring sheet music for a 1-2 minute long segment of song that shows off your singing voice; musical theatre songs are preferred. During your 10-minute audition time slot, you will be asked to sing your prepared song while a provided piano accompanist plays your sheet music. Additionally, you will read a few lines out of the script.
For those who are cast rehearsals will be held every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm, however not every actor will be called to every rehearsal! The week prior to the performance rehearsal (Tech Week) will be held July 28, 29, 30, and 31 from 6:00-10:00 pm.
Performances will be held on August 1 at 6:00 pm and August 2, and 3 at 2:00 pm! The show is fun and funny for all ages, so come out and audition!! There are roles for everyone in this original, goofy, and joyful musical comedy. Click the link below to sign up for Auditions now!!
