The Urban Retreats Garden Tour is returning on June 21! This self-guided tour of Winnipeg’s Deer Lodge area will feature 14 gardens which showcase the variety and serenity found in carefully planned spaces. All proceeds support 1JustCity’s programs and drop-in centers.
Tour highlights include a Naturescape certified garden, a Monarch Waystation, a 100-year-old community garden, a historical home with an apothecary garden, an artist’s residence with paintings throughout the garden, fruit trees, native wildflowers, and a collection of hydrangeas.
The Manitoba Tea, Craft & Plant Sale will be taking place at Prairie Spirit United Church on the same day. Local artisans will be selling jewelry, garden décor, honey, spices, art cards, photographs, sewed and knitted products, and much more. You can buy goodies at the 1JustCity bake table, ask a Master Gardener your questions, and purchase some plants to take home. The tour will be on Saturday, June 21 from 10 AM to 4 PM, while the tea and sale runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. Tickets for the tour are $20, for the tea and sale $5.
