Our local friendly tournaments are a casual tournament format to provide TCG trainers a chance to practice for the larger TCG League Challenge and TCG League Cup tournaments.
The air is feeling electric as we approach the 2025 World Championships—and Play! Pokémon is ready to kick off the celebration early! On August 14, we are hosting a 2025 Worlds Celebration tournaments, where you can battle fellow Pokémon Trainers and make new friends at your local Pokémon League.
Participating Trainers will earn a Pokémon Trading Card Game promo card featuring Pikachu, while supplies last. Plus at each location, winners from each division—Junior, Senior, and Masters—will earn a copy of the promo card with “WINNER” stamped on it!
Registration: 5:30 to 6:00 PM
Round one (1) will begin at approximately 6:05 PM.
Entry fee: $5 CDN (taxes included)
Tournament format: Constructed - Standard
Prizing:
- At least 50% of the entry fees to be returned as in-store gift certificates for top ranking players
- At least one (1) Prize Pack per player
- For the winner of each age division, a copy of the Pikachu promo card with "WINNER" stamped on it

Tournament round format: Age-Modified Swiss; the number of rounds will be determined by number of entrants.
Tournament rounds will be best of 1 game matches lasting no more than thirty (30) minutes plus three (3) turns.
