WHAT TO PREPARE & EXPECT
-Sides from the script for the character(s) you are auditioning for will be emailed to you.
-You do not need to be off-book, but please come prepared to read with other auditioning actors.
-English accents will be used in the show for all characters.
-Please practice the Received Pronunciation (formal, upper-class) English accent, but performers may play other characters in the story that use other British accents, so be prepared to demonstrate another type of British accent.
-Auditions for the part of The Woman will involve a brief reading, movement, and an interview about availability for promotional activities.
-Please bring a printed picture of yourself. This does not have to be a professional headshot.

SHOW SYNOPSIS AND OUR PRODUCTION
“It was nine-thirty on Christmas Eve...” The framework of this spine tingler is unusual: a lawyer hires an actor to tutor him in recounting to family and friends a story that has long troubled him concerning events that transpired when he attended the funeral of an elderly recluse. There he caught sight of THE WOMAN IN BLACK, the mere mention of whom terrifies the locals, for she is a spectre who haunts the neighbourhood where her illegitimate child was accidentally killed. Anyone who is unfortunate enough to see her will suffer a terrible tragedy! The lawyer has invited some friends to watch as he and the actor recreate the events of that dark and stormy night. AVAILABLE ROLES
-All three roles in the show are open to audition.
-Although the character will be played as two male-presenting and one female-presenting, actors of any gender identity and expression are encouraged to audition for any role.
-Available roles are:
-Actor: age range 40s to 60s, a lawyer who is tormented by a disturbing experience he had many years ago.
-Kipps: age range 20s to 30s, a performer who is hired by the Actor to help him re-enact his story.
-The Woman: age range 36 (but open to any age), a mysterious figure who appears wasted away, unwell.

REHEARSAL DATES & TIMES
-Two rehearsals a week, with the possibility of adding a third as we get close to performance.
-Rehearsals are tentatively planned for Tuesday nights, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday mornings or afternoons.
-However, rehearsal schedule is subject to change and will be determined after casting is complete.
-Please note that the cast will participate in the Windsor PRIDE Parade on August 10, 2025, in the morning and early afternoon.
