Blood Ties: a musical thriller by Johnson and Johnston

Bride-to-be Sheila needs a little help from her friends…

When Fran, Larry and Paul arrive in town to throw their bestie a bachelorette party they are met with a grisly scene. Sheila’s Uncle Conrad has taken his own life in the bathroom of the family home they’re spending the weekend at and though the body is gone, the mess… isn’t. The wedding is tomorrow and Sheila has been tasked with the unpleasant job of cleaning up after her uncle. Luckily for Sheila, her best friends have arrived.

A darkly comedic “true crime” musical by Anika Johnson and Barbara Johnston, Blood Ties is a story of a bachelorette weekend gone horribly wrong. Blood Ties is a cult hit musical seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Toronto’s Next Stage Festival, Summerworks Festival featured on Season Two of the Emmy Award Winning TV Show, ‘Orphan Black’.
