How much do YOU know about pollinators?
Join us at the beautiful Wilson Botanical Gardens in Wilson, NC on Saturday, August 23 from 8:30 to 10:30am to participate in the 2025 Great Southeastern Pollinator Census.
This exciting multistate citizen science project is great for families and people of all ages. You will learn to identify and count different kinds of pollinators, who are some of the most important creatures on our planet. There will be kids activities and educational information about pollinator-friendly practices from the Wilson County Master Gardeners, the Imagination Station Science and History Museum, and Seeds of Hope Wilson.
Joining the Count is easy:
1-Catch the latest buzz - Check-in at the welcome table
2-Pick your plant - Choose a favorite pollinator plant to monitor
3-Get to Counting- Count every insect that lands on your plant for 15 minutes
4-Share the results- Turn your count sheet in and get your count certificate

Mark your calendars and spend the morning with a real citizen science project, the Great Southeast Pollinator Census. The Census began in goals are:
1-To create sustainable pollinator habitat
