About the event

Healing Through Words: A Letter Writing Workshop with Samantha Mineroff
Write the letter you always needed to hear. Explore healing generational trauma through guided writing, reflection, and connection.

About this Event

Join us for an intimate and transformative evening of reflection, connection, and creativity with local poet Samantha Mineroff. In this guided letter-writing workshop, we will explore the power of words to heal generational wounds by writing the letters we always wished we had received - from a parent, caregiver, or ancestor.

Through gentle prompts and shared moments of writing, Samantha will lead us in crafting letters that give voice to the unspoken, creating space for both personal healing and collective growth. This is not about confrontation. It's about reclaiming your narrative, offering yourself compassion, and finding peace through language.

All are welcome, come on your own or with someone you trust.

No writing experience is necessary.

Bring a journal, pen, and an open heart.

Free entry with purchase of Dear Daughter by Samantha Mineroff. Books will be available for purchase at the start of the event.

Book Description:

Inspired by real women, Samantha Mineroff shares an inside look at what mothers and daughters go through with this moving chapbook of epistolary poetry. Examine how women relate to one another by exploring the stories that make you think about your life: from grief and societal pressure to acceptance and empowerment.

Each section—“Apologies,” “Warmth,” and Encouragement”—is written with a particular message in mind, making it a guidebook of sorts from which readers can pick and choose the themes that work for them at any particular moment.

Dive into self-exploration with the women in your own life and remind yourself of the complexity and fragility of the mother-daughter relationship. Generational trauma can manifest itself in various ways, but Mineroff’s poetry encourages you to take the time to process and unpack your own experiences. Every poem invites you to reflect on the people that help shape you as you think about both where you came from and where you’ll go.
