A Community Gathering on Faithful Responses to the Housing Crisis

The housing crisis is impacting our community in deep and visible ways—from families experiencing homelessness to workers struggling to find affordable places to live. On May 29, 2025, One Christian Network, in partnership with the New Hanover Community Endowment, invites the public to a solution-driven event: Stories and Solutions: A Faith and Housing Crisis Forum.

This evening gathering is designed for anyone who wants to better understand the scope of the local housing crisis—and especially for people of faith looking to be part of the solution. Attendees will hear real stories from those affected, explore the systemic challenges, and learn practical ways churches and individuals can respond with compassion and creativity.

Breakout sessions will include:

-Understanding the Housing Crisis 101
-Building Backyard Housing (ADUs)
-Church Property with Purpose: Missional Development Models
-Volunteering Your Time and Skills
