Callbacks: Tuesday, September 30, 6:30-9 PM.
What to Prepare: 16–32 bars (a cappella or with an instrumental track) of a song in a classical or musical theatre style that shows off vocal range and storytelling ability.
Rehearsals: Sundays- Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 PM, and some Saturdays. Not all cast attends every rehearsal, beginning Oct. 11.
Character Breakdown
Quasimodo – The bell-ringer of Notre Dame. Deafened by the bells and isolated from the outside world, he is kind-hearted, hopeful, and longs for acceptance. Requires a powerful tenor voice and strong emotional range.
Claude Frollo – Archdeacon of Notre Dame. A complex and conflicted man torn between devotion and desire. Dark, commanding baritone with rich dramatic ability.
Esmeralda – A compassionate, free-spirited Romani woman who is wise beyond her years. Strong dancer with a rich, expressive belt/mix voice.
Captain Phoebus de Martin – A soldier returning from war, confident yet capable of growth and compassion. Charismatic tenor/baritone with strong presence.
Clopin Trouillefou – Male or Female: The clever and vibrant leader of the Romani. A showperson with comedic flair and dramatic depth. Requires a strong tenor or alto with high energy.
Congregation / Ensemble – The heart of the show. Functions as both chorus and character ensemble, portraying townsfolk, soldiers, Romani, and priests. This group provides the powerful choral foundation of the production. Strong soloist and choral singers in all vocal ranges are essential.
