Art & Activism Panel: Where Creativity Meets Justice

Join us at Huxley & Hiro for a vibrant and thought-provoking evening exploring the powerful intersections of art and activism. Moderated by Oscar Eduardo de Paz, this multidisciplinary panel brings together artists, educators, and community leaders who use their creative practices to challenge systems of inequality and nurture collective resilience.

Featured Panelists:

  • Oscar Eduardo de Paz – Visual artist
  • Dr. Traci Currie – Poet and educator
  • Jea Street Jr. – Musician and educator
  • Jamilah Abdullah – Chef and founder of Free Food For All Delaware

Together, the panelists will explore how creative expression can confront injustice, build community, and reimagine the future.


About the Moderator:
Originally from Chicago and now based in Wilmington, Delaware, Oscar Eduardo de Paz is the current Artist in Residence at the Delaware Contemporary. With a background in philosophy and public administration, his research at the University of Delaware focused on environmental injustice and community-driven solutions. De Paz brings a deep commitment to social and environmental justice to his artistic practice, using visual art as a tool for critical inquiry and collective healing.
