Come all ye and help us celebrate the life, ideas and legacy of Wigan born Gerrard Winstanley - 17th Century radical social activist who declared 'The Earth is a common treasury for all'.
The FREE festival will feature music throughout the day on two stages, along with poetry, stalls offering ideas and visions for a better, fairer world, food and drink - all at NORTHERN PRICES.
Come for all or part of the day - be part of something bigger and better for you being there!
The whole thing starts with a parade parade led by our good friends, the True Levellers Samba Band, followed by a symbolic reenactment of the collective occupation of St George's Hill and the planting of crops to be shared between the Diggers community, before a rousing address from the main stage, relating the Diggers story to the present day.
Events will then involve music and poetry in a diverse set of styles, united by their quality - from joyful folk rock, to contemporary acoustic, classic rock to reggae, punk energy and fiery protest to the gently introspective, legendary performers with international reputations to local heroes.
