Sip N' Science: Hooked On Fish!

Dive into the fascinating world of freshwater fish on Friday, Sept. 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for Sip N’ Science: Hooked On Fish!

Fisheries biologist James York of Texas Parks and Wildlife will guide us through how to identify common fish species by their unique features and share why this knowledge matters for understanding and protecting our waterways. You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at how biologists study fish populations using techniques like electrofishing, gill nets, and trap nets, and discover how this research helps keep aquatic ecosystems healthy. Then, test your skills in a fun fish ID game—with a fishing pole prize for the winner—before wrapping up the night with a hands-on lure-painting activity to take home.

Ages 21 and up. Tickets are $25 per person, or $20 for RBNC members.
