Seedtime on the Cumberland—Appalshop's FREE festival featuring music, art, local crafters, and food—will be held June 6-7 in downtown Whitesburg (91 Madison Ave., Whitesburg, KY).
Join us for music, food, crafts, dancing, jam sessions, and more!
On the evening of Friday, June 6, we’ll begin our festivities with the annual Seedtime Punk Show under the Appalshop Solar Pavilion. This year’s lineup includes Pinhead Poison, Ordinary Thursday, Epistaxis, Desiccated, Dice Jail, and Neon Rain. The punk show always offers a unique sampling of the region’s alternative music, and we are always grateful for the enthusiasm of the crowds who attend. This year’s show will be no different.
Saturday, June 7, will be a full day of music, crafts, and food, from 11 am to 9 pm. We are proud to share this year’s Seedtime will feature performances from Grace Rogers, Sarah Kate Morgan, The Letcher & Knott Co Pick & Bow Stringbands, Mike Ellison, The Heavenly Voices (The Williams Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church Choir), UK Balinese Gamelan Langen Kerti, John Haywood/Carrie Wells Carter/Matthew Carter, Greater Mount Sinai Baptist Church Spirituals, Florencia & The Feeling Trio, and a special performance from the Knox Honkers and Bangers, a community-driven, inclusive DIY Marching band.
The new WMMT-FM studio at 253A E Main Street will be open to the public on the 7th as well, with a series of interactive exhibits from Eli Berman and Susan Powers, Seth Gover, and Blane Sage, as well as a block of short film screenings in the morning.
