Join The Mindfulness Movement at Birch Lake Elementary School for a special winter edition of Make & Take: Calming Creations, a cozy, creative after-school enrichment class designed for students in grades 1–5. Through mindful art and sensory play, kids will relax, create, and connect—while building emotional wellness tools they can take home.

Each week features a wintry project your child will make and take, designed to inspire calm, focus, and fun:

Create your own swirl of peaceful winter snow in a calming bottle.

✨ Week 2: Snowflake Slime
Sparkly, stretchy slime—perfect for chilly day play and sensory calm.

Sculpt, smell, and smile with this warm, spiced dough that feels like winter joy.

Led by licensed teacher Tara Willits, this series offers a peaceful and playful space for creativity, reflection, and seasonal fun.
