Sogetsu Ikebana

Ready to be ZEN and present? I am very excited to announce that Vera Uyehara will be offering Sogetsu Ikebana classes at the Empress starting in September. I LOVE Vera!

Sogetsu Ikebana is a modern school of Japanese flower arranging founded in 1927 by Sofu Teshigahara. Unlike traditional ikebana, which often emphasizes strict rules and natural seasonal materials, Sogetsu encourages freedom of expression, creativity, and the use of unconventional materials alongside flowers. Its philosophy is that ikebana can be practiced by anyone, anywhere, and with any materials, making it a flexible and contemporary art form.

There will be four classes and the series must be paid in advance with no refund due to the amount of foraging and prep she needs to do. The series is $100 for all four classes. The classes are Tuesday, September 2,9,23 and 30th. This class is extremely limited in size - so please sign up soon! Message me or call (304) 905-4909 to reserve your spot.
