We are pleased to invite Dr. Mark Peterson, who earned his Ph.D. in Korean Studies from Harvard University, for a special lecture on Korean history titled: “Korean Liberation: 80 Years in the Rearview Mirror.”
Dr. Peterson, author of The Frog Outside the Well, will guide us through a retrospective journey spanning the 80 years since Korea’s liberation. The lecture will be delivered in Korean, accompanied by an English-language presentation.

Creator of the YouTube channel “Frog Outside the Well”, focused on Korean history and culture

The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of Korea’s Liberation. This historic milestone provides an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of the independence movement and to honor the spirit of liberation. It is also a moment to pass on these values to future generations and to share Korea’s rich culture and traditions with wider communities.
