You are invited to the official opening of The Common Room. A brand new creative space in Weston-super-Mare; for the community, by the community, with the community

Our story begins with Chapter One of “Weston Anatomy”. In a reimagining of Lorenzo Vitturi’s Ridley Road study, our first creative collective looks to celebrate the vibrant, distinctive parts of the body of our town through photography, word and sound.

Weston is changing. It recently became a Council of Sanctuary, welcoming those seeking safety here. Protesters on both sides took to the streets. Love and fear.

With their voices ringing in our ears, we open our doors in Orchard Meadows.

We are the T in the rainbow, the vinyl in the window, the roll-up in the gutter. The ackee and saltfish, a mouthful of mochi, the rattle of a beer barrel. The skin fade, uke string, goat curry, vegan roast, needle prick, minecraft, crystals, mujaddara, chocolate and chips…

We are Alan’s zombie comics. Sayid’s betel nuts. The waft of Frodo’s tail….
