Come join Rewrite the BiLine and the City of West Hollywood for an engaging event celebrating the representation of bi+ characters and storylines on screen! Join us for a panel with industry experts and some of your favorite actors, writers, and producers sharing insights and experiences on crafting authentic bi+ narratives.
We are excited to welcome these panelists, plus a special guest who's shaped the conversation on bi+ representation in ways you’ve definitely felt. Stay tuned!
R.K. Russell (he/him), NFL Legend, Writer, & Advocate
R.K. Russell is an NFL Legend, author, and advocate. He made history as the first active NFL player to come out as bisexual, and his memoir The Yards Between Us explores identity, masculinity, and authenticity in sports. His memoir is being adapted by Sony Pictures Television into a comedy series. As a gifted storyteller, he advocates for narratives that forge connections between competition, culture, and community.
Ronen Rubinstein (he/him), Actor & Musician
Ronen is an actor and frontman of the rock band Nights in Stereo. He was raised in Staten Island, New York. His first breakthrough came by way of Eliza Hittman's 2013 Sundance Film Festival standout, "It Felt Like Love." He is best known for his starring role as T.K. Strand in the Ryan Murphy smash hit "9-1-1: Lone Star," which just ended it's 5 Season run on FOX. In 2023, Ronen received an Honorary Masters Degree from his Alma Mater New York Film Academy. Ronen has brought the same creative force with which he ascended the acting world to Nights In Stereo, helping the band to solidify its brand and fan engagement engine. Their debut EP Second Nature is currently available everywhere.
Aaron Hammersley (any/all), Producer & Advocate
Aaron is a multidisciplinary creative and advocate with an 18-year career spanning film, television, animation, music videos, and commercials. He has contributed to projects at every major film studio and has produced more than 90 Hollywood red carpet premieres, collaborating with a wide array of high-profile talent. Since 2022, Aaron has worked in the Physical Production department of the Live Action Feature division of Walt Disney Studios, helping bring big-budget theatrical releases to life. In 2024, he co-authored with Christina Fialho the first comprehensive industry guide on the portrayal of bi+ characters in film and television—a landmark resource for inclusive storytelling. That same year, he joined the board of the LA Bi+ Task Force, deepening his long-standing commitment to bi+ visibility. Beyond the screen, Aaron is an active voice in the nonprofit space, advocating for LGBTQ+ representation, environmental sustainability, and social equity.
Christina Fialho (she/her), Founder & President of Rewrite the BiLine (Panel Moderator)
Christina is an award-winning social entrepreneur, attorney, and activist who has championed LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights for nearly two decades. A proud bi woman and daughter of an immigrant, she began her industry career by consulting on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black while exposing abuse in immigration detention as co-founder of Freedom for Immigrants. Since then, she has partnered with artists across media to drive cultural and legislative change. As founder of Rewrite the BiLine, she co-authored with Aaron Hammersley and developed a tool to support authentic bi+ representation on screen. Christina’s work has been featured in major outlets like Newsweek, Rolling Stone, and the LA Times, and she has received honors including the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award and fellowships from Ashoka and Echoing Green. She serves on the board of It Gets Better.
Rose Montoya (she/they), Trans Advocate & Content Creator (Event MC)
Rose is an award-winning trans Latina advocate, educator, writer, and content creator. Known for her viral Trans 101 series, she partners with nonprofits, Fortune 500 companies, and government agencies to advance trans-inclusive policies, including TSA reforms under the Biden administration. Featured in TIME, The Washington Post, Vogue, them, and CNN, Rose has been honored in OUT Magazine’s Out100 and won Best Activist and Best Local Influencer at the 2025 LA Blade Readers’ Choice Awards. A sought-after speaker, she’s presented from Capitol Hill to World Pride DC 2025, making LGBTQ+ education accessible, impactful, and inspiring through unapologetic visibility.

Seating is limited, so we ask that you please RSVP and cancel your tickets if you find that you are not able to attend. Seating will be first come, first serve, and in the event of full seated capacity, very limited standing room will be available. Accessible seating is available.
Limited parking is available at the 5-story parking structure adjacent to the City Council Chambers. Those parking in that structure and attending the ceremony will have their parking validated. Visit www.metro.net and www.weho.org/transit for car-free options.
Rewrite the BiLine aims to rewrite the narrative on bi+ people and non-nuclear families in film, television, and the media through script-to-screen consulting, public education, and investment in bi+ voices in order to create lasting social and political change. Learn more at .
