Join us for our September Blues Intensive, a new series of workshops designed to challenge, inspire, and connect dancers of all levels.
This month we will be focusing on Savoy Walk— an idiom from the Black American social dance culture of the swing era in New York City.
The Savoy Walk we teach is said to have been danced at the iconic Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, New York City. It is what was danced when the hot swing bands slowed things down. This dance ebbs and flows between a chill groove and dynamic movement inspired by the jazz music of the times.
Whether you're brand new to Blues dance or a seasoned mover, this workshop has something for everyone.
