Mirrorball Ministries, Brisbane

Distrosub Presents is a small, considered showcase of artists we genuinely care about, people we’ve crossed paths with through Yonder line ups and local gigs. Some of these artists are already on Distrosub, some aren’t (yet), but all of them reflect the kind of independent music and practice the platform is built to support.
As Distrosub grows, live shows remain an important anchor. The platform is shaped by the spaces where music is shared in real time, the venues, the people, and the feeling of being present together. This night is part of that ongoing conversation between live music and the recorded work that follows it.

Artists

Accomplice Collective
Accomplice Collective is a large, ever-shifting group of Brisbane musicians built around improvisation and collaboration. With a rotating lineup of players and vocalists, every performance is different, loose, spontaneous, and driven by the energy of the room rather than a fixed setlist.

Dual Dialect
Dual Dialect is a Meanjin duo blending saxophone, glitchy electronics, and slow-burn rhythms into immersive live sets. Their music sits somewhere between art-jazz and ambient electronics, unfolding patiently and rewarding close listening.

ff8282
ff8282 is the solo project of Meanjin artist April Emily, creating deeply personal ambient and experimental music. Moving between quiet reflection and dense, noisy textures, their work feels intimate, exploratory, and constantly evolving.

fhae
fhae is the experimental ambient-folk project of Ellena Ramsay, weaving ethereal vocals with layered synths, guitar, and raw percussion. Their work explores complex emotional states with honesty and care, creating immersive soundscapes that linger long after the set ends.

Fictions
Fictions is the instrumental project of Brisbane artist Anthony Christopher, focused on atmosphere, repetition, and storytelling through sound. Drawing inspiration from film, memory, and landscape, Fictions creates slow-moving, contemplative music that invites listeners to build their own narratives.

Kenta Hayashi (Japan)
Kenta Hayashi is a Japanese live-looping guitarist and composer creating immersive, trance-like performances through layered guitar, vocals, and rhythm. Built entirely live, his sets unfold patiently into powerful, meditative soundscapes shaped by tone, tuning, and deep attention to vibration.

Life on Earth
Life on Earth is a Brisbane-based project centred on improvised live music, fusing elements of jazz, soul, and hip hop with real-time songwriting. Every performance is built in the room, responsive, fluid, and shaped by the moment rather than a fixed set. Their shows focus on connection and uplift, using improvisation as a way to explore feeling, groove, and shared experience.

Sachém
Sachém is a Brisbane-based artist whose work bridges First Nations and African American perspectives through hip hop, spoken word, and live performance. Grounded in story and lived experience, his practice moves between music and theatre, creating work that feels direct, thoughtful, and deeply present.

About Distrosub
Distrosub is an artist-first platform built to support independent musicians through direct, low-cost subscriptions. It’s less about chasing scale and more about creating a sustainable, human way for people to support and listen to the music they care about.

Many artists who’ve played Yonder Festival, and several performing on this night, already have music available on Distrosub. This show is one small extension of that ongoing relationship between artists, audiences, and the people trying to build something better around them.

With support from Yonder Festival & 4000 Records

Yonder Festival
The same team behind Yonder Festival are behind Distrosub. Both come from the same place: a belief in emerging music, artist-led spaces, and building things slowly, with care.

4000 Records
4000 Records have curated the ambient program, with a number of their affiliated artists available on Distrosub. They are an artist-led record label with a strong focus on collaborating with south east qld creatives.

Venue: Mirrorball Ministries
Mirrorball Ministries is a new live music space from the people behind Can You Keep a Secret and It’s Still a Secret. With the recent closure of The Bearded Lady, Brisbane lost a valuable venue, Mirrorball is helping to fill that gap, offering a space for thoughtful, independent programming and community-focused shows.
