Raqs Sharqi Technique with Tarifa

Experience the joy and passion of traditional Raqs Sharqi every Wednesday at 1 pm. This multi-level class will focus on developing technique in executing traditional movement vocabulary with strength, flow and clarity as well as develop the students kinesthetic awareness and sense of musicality. Students will also be guided in exercises to help them capture that unique middle eastern essence by becoming more aware of the characteristic nuances of the cultural dances.

Students should come to each class on time with a readiness to move non-stop for 60 minutes. Please wear non-restrictive clothing, including a hip scarf, belt or practice skirt. Please bring finger cymbals and veils to each class if you have them.
