A spectacular sea of perfect blooms and cascading foliage, full of some of the MOST beautiful rich hues of purple, deep soothing greens, and the brightest splashes of pink have come together inside a small corner inside the Town Toyota Center's Community Rink.
It is stunning to say the least.
And dear God it is humbling. There's a certain silence that comes with sitting in an inconspicuous space built to put your hockey skates on, now gently housing the delicately living pieces of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia's Memorial Service. The visceral pain of a mother, (family, and community) is undeniably loud and palpable. Still bleeding and raw, it's a stark contradiction of the beautiful displays representing so much love staring back at me. SO much love here.
Cause that's what grief is, right? It's unspent love. It's all the love you want to give, but cannot. So it settles in the knot in your throat before tumbling to the pit of your gut. Damn that unspent love is heavy sometimes.
So can we lighten this load for the three little girls (that I think we all agreed have changed us in one way or another), and for each other who may just need it??
Will you PLEASE join us on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 (on the concourse just inside the Main Doors) where we welcome you to come Decorate a Decker Cup in honor of our Princess Girls- and take a home a few of their repurposed flowers in it??? Can we just let their light keep shining and help them soar by spreading our community's unspent love for them as far as the eye can see??
