TGIF: Blast from the past - Katrin Eickhorst (recorder), Corrina Connor (cello) and Michael Stewart

Katrin Eickhorst and Corrina Connor, both experienced baroque cellists, are challenging the perspective of the continuo assuming a servant’s role. This programme offers opportunity to “swap” parts, cello taking the upper part, recorder the bass line, both playing equal parts, and on their own. Michael Stewart joins with the missing harmonies, and an additional highlight on the harpsichord.
The programme culmination in Corelli’s “La Folia” gives a lively demonstration of equity between treble and bass parts.
