NZSM Big Band 1 and 2

We showcased the two NZSM Big Bands in July and what incredible performances they gave us. The standard of music from the July gigs was exceptional for such young players.

At Capital Blues, we have a long and deep association with the NZSM Big Bands going back many years. There is the cherished link with Rodger Fox, but it’s more than that. 80% of the musicians that play in Capital Blues were in the Big Bands (albeit under various institution’s names) at some stage. Our President and soundman, Damian Forlong, and Oscar Lavën are only two examples.

Many of these players will be the future of live music in Wellington. Come along and support them.
