Mit „Dance People“ eröffnet das Kunstfest Weimar auf dem Theaterplatz
– eine interaktive Tanzperformance die sich als Ort für Austausch, Teilhabe und gemeinsames Gestalten begreift. Im Mittelpunkt stehen Fragen nach Zugehörigkeit, Machtverhältnissen und gesellschaftlichen Normen.
Künstler:innen aus Tanz, Musik, Architektur, Literatur und Aktivismus entwickeln gemeinsam mit lokalen Beteiligten eine Performance ohne feste Grenzen – partizipativ, politisch, spontan.
Das Publikum ist eingeladen, mitzuwirken: sich zu bewegen, mitzudenken, mitzugestalten. So wird „Dance People“ zur ästhetischen Erfahrung – und zur Reflexion über Demokratie, Identität und Verantwortung im kulturellen Handeln.

With “Dance People”, the Kunstfest Weimar opens on Theaterplatz
- an interactive dance performance that sees itself as a place for exchange, participation and joint creation. The focus is on questions of belonging, power relations and social norms.
Together with local participants, artists from the fields of dance, music, architecture, literature and activism will develop a performance without fixed boundaries - participatory, political, spontaneous.
The audience is invited to participate: to move, to think, to help shape. In this way, “Dance People” becomes an aesthetic experience - and a reflection on democracy, identity and responsibility in cultural action.
