The Wauseon Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from Mid- June to the final Saturday in September. The market opens at 8:30 am and Closes at 12:00 noon. The theme for the Wauseon Farmers' Market targets healthy lifestyle choices. The fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers were tied to an emphasis on diet and exercise. The market's location on Fulton Street provided an open, and unique public space in the downtown area. The market plan would offer a variety of fresh farm grown vegetables and fruits, baked goods, home prepared foods, and locally produced handcrafted art. The extended vision for the market forsees a meeting place for our community. a spot to visit, shop and be informed while visiting with friends.
Specifically, the Wauseon Farmers' Market will provide an opportunity to "buy local," both produce and products, support farm families, agriculture and the local environment. The market design will reflect a community commitment to health issues and to raise awareness of environmental isssues, while simultaneously promoting downtown Wauseon as a center of economic activity, preserving the historical "small town" feel.
