Security – The safety of Fest attendees is of the utmost importance to our staff and volunteers. For this reason, we have
implemented the following policies/ procedures for this year’s Wauconda Fest. Anyone found violating these policies
will be asked to leave the festival and banned from the park for the remainder of the weekend or may be denied
entrance to the festival.
1. No class bottles will be allowed in the fest grounds.
2. No outside liquids will be allowed on the Fest grounds. All entrants will be allowed one sealed
water bottle in its original packaging. No other outside beverage containers will be allowed.
3. Backpacks will not be allowed on the Fest grounds. All diaper bags and personal bags/purses, fanny packs,
folding chairs etc. will be checked by AF Security Services prior to entrance to the Fest grounds.
4. Guns, knives, or other potential weapons are not allowed on the festival grounds. Those found with these
items are subject to, but not limited to, removal from the Fest, civil citation/tickets, or arrest.
Wauconda Fest volunteers, staff, AF Security personnel, and members of the Wauconda Police Department are
authorized to refuse entrance and remove attendees for any reason, including intrusive or suspicious activity.
*NEW* Wauconda Police may use a drone for real-time monitoring to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all
attendees.
Fest Entry –There is a $5 entrance fee to enter the Fest grounds. Children three years and under are free. Entrance for
active members of the United States Military is free upon showing a valid Military ID. Seniors 62 and over will receive a
discounted admission of $2. Valid State ID may be required as proof of age for individuals 62 and over.
Carnival Rides – Ride tickets are $1 with most rides requiring 4-5 tickets per ride. Ride ticket booths will accept cash or
credit card. Credit card transactions will require an additional service charge for all transactions.
Unlimited Ride Wristbands go on sale at Noon on Saturday and Sunday. Wristbands will be valid for riding from 1-5 pm
on these days. Please note rides will not open until 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Some rides may close early at the end of the evening if there is low attendance or ridership. (continued)
Parking – Parking is available at no charge in all Wauconda Park District lots and at the Wauconda High School. Please
obey parking signs when parking in neighborhoods adjacent to the Fest. Please cross Main Street at designated
crosswalks to gain entrance to the Fest grounds.
Bikes, Scooters, and Skateboards – Bikes, scooters, skateboards, and similar forms of transportation will not be allowed
on the Fest Grounds. There are no designated parking spots or lockers to store these items.
Beer and Wine Sales – Drink responsibly and know your limits! All Fest goers who wish to purchase alcohol must
possess a valid State issued ID and must be 21 years of age or older. Those 21 and over who show proof of age over 21
years old will be given a wristband each day of the event. Wristbands are different colors each day and anyone wishing
to consume alcohol must get a new wristband each day. Wristbands must be worn when consuming and purchasing
alcohol.
Alcoholic beverage tickets are available to purchase for $7 each. Tickets must be purchased at the beer ticket sales tent
located near the main entrance off Main Street. Alcoholic beverage tickets can be purchased with cash or credit card.
All credit card transactions will require an additional $2 charge on each transaction. Tickets purchased during the Fest
are valid for any day of the Fest and the 3rd of July Fireworks Celebration.
Access to Fishing Pier/Kayak Launch at Cook Park- Access to the Fishing Pier and Kayak Launch will be limited beginning
Saturday, June 21, at 7:00 am through Monday, June 30 at 5:00 pm. There will be no access to this area during Fest
hours.
