STARGAZING Event: Barton-Brown Observatory August 16

Join us for a fun evening of stargazing under the dark skies at Barton-Brown Observatory! Our huge 16" Meade telescope will be ready, and we'll be handing out star charts of the August night sky and some tips to get you started in astronomy.

Planet Saturn will be visible, along with the beautiful summer constellations and other interesting objects including globular clusters containing millions of stars, double star systems, and much more. We may even see some Perseid meteors streak across the sky!!

The observatory is behind the Waterville Public Library, and there is plenty of parking. As always, our monthly programs and stargazing events are FREE so bring along your family and friends!

Remember to dress warmly, the temperature can drop during the evening. We hope to see you there!
