6-Week Beginner Hand-Building Class
Oct 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, Nov 6th, & 13th 9:00am-11:30am
Ready to get your hands dirty? Join Rose for this 4-week class and learn the fundamentals of hand-building with clay. No prior experience is necessary!
What You'll Learn
Week 1: We'll focus on the basics! You'll learn how to prepare clay, use essential tools, and apply different textures. This week is all about mastering the "how-to's" of clay before you start building.
Week 2: You'll create a soap dish, and you'll learn how to add a finished foot to the bottom.
Week 3: You'll create a Berry dish, learning how to cut holes and apply stencils.
Week 4: We'll focus on texturing and creating a lunch plate with a foot.
Week 5: We will hand-build a mug, adding 3D decorations and making a handle.
Week 6: Time to glaze! You'll learn the techniques for glazing and finish all your work from the previous weeks.
Class Details & Studio Access
Instructor: Rose
Materials: All students will receive 25 lbs of clay with their registration.
Studio Access: You will have temporary 24-hour access to the studio for the duration of the class, plus an additional 3 days after the final class to finish any projects. Please note: All students must read the studio handbook, which is available online.
Pick-Up: You will be notified within two weeks of the last class when your finished, fired work is ready for pick-up.
