About the event

Cancer in Iowa: Black Hawk County Listening Session
Iowa has the second-highest cancer rate in the U.S., and we are among the only two states where cancer rates are increasing.

The Iowa Environmental Council and The Harkin Institute announced the launch of a new initiative that explores the relationship between environmental risk factors and cancer rates in Iowa. We want to hear your thoughts and experiences with how cancer has impacted you and your family.

Join us to hear a short presentation about cancer data and rates in Black Hawk County, learn about our efforts to explore causes of cancer in Iowa, and share your own story and listen to others’ stories.

Attendance is free and open to the public. You can RSVP below, but walk-ins are always welcome.
