43rd Annual Porta Westfalica

Join the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce, the Waterloo Lions, and the Sister Cities for the 43rd Annual Porta Westfalica Festival.

The festival takes place on the streets surrounding the Monroe County Courthouse from 4 to 10 p.m., with a parade at 6 p.m. The parade starts from the VFW parking lot, and goes up Columbia Avenue, right on Main Street, then right on Mill Street before ending at the corner of Mill and S. Library Streets.

Come hungry! The Sister Cities will serve potato pancakes with applesauce. The Waterloo Lions will have ribeye sandwiches, hot dogs, and French fries. Monroe County Electric will grill up pork burgers. There will also be funnel cakes, lemonade shake-ups, ice cream, shaved ice, kettle corn, and more.

For our guests who are 21 and over, come and enjoy domestic or imported beer. Last call is 9:30 p.m.

For the kids, we've got inflatables of all sizes! Discounted armbands will be available starting May 1st at some area banks. They will also be available at the festival, along with individual tickets.
