Learn to Crochet Day

Join us on Saturday, August 16th (starting at 9:30a), where we will be going over the basics of crocheting with DRAW's Plarn Flood Bag pattern:
-Chain stitch (ch)
-Single crochet stitch (sc)
-Single crochet 2 together stitch (sc2tog)
-Slip stitch (sl st)

As part of our Green Initiative, DRAW recycles grocery bags to make plastic yarn (aka "Plarn") to create larger reusable tote bags that are used by victims after natural disasters. These bags help as they muck out their homes and salvage their belongings. Grocery bags are donated from the public, and DRAW's army of volunteers make the plarn and crochet tote bags to give to disaster victims in times of need.

DRAW will have crochet hooks (size Q) and plastic yarn available, and bringing standard yarn/crochet hooks are encouraged to learn from as well.
