Warren County was created through enabling legislation that passed in November 1824, separating the southern end of Sussex County into a county of its own the following year. The new county was named for Dr. Joseph Warren, a Boston firebrand who advocated for independence from Great Britain and was killed while fighting in the Battle of Bunker Hill 50 years earlier on June 17, 1775.
Bring your family, friends and appetite to celebrate our 200th birthday!
