LGBT Intergenerational Meetup: Hiking, Bird Watching, and Picnic

Join Capitol Hill Village for our monthly LGBT Intergenerational Meetup. This month, explore the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens and enjoy a picnic after. There will be options for easy strolling or hiking based on your preference. Bring your own food for the picnic and if you plan to share please let others know others what is in it for allergies!

Easy Strolling/Birdwatching Option

The trail at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is gravel and wooden boardwalk and includes an elevation gain of 39ft and takes around 45 minutes to complete. It is noted as accessible for visitors using wheelchairs, mobility equipment, or strollers.

Hiking Option

We will also have a hiking group taking the Anacostia Riverwalk Trail to Bladensburg Waterfront Park, which has a trailhead at Kenilworth Gardens. The Trail is partially paved and multi-use so we will have bikers and runners as well. Going from Kenilworth Gardens to Bladensburg Waterfront Park takes 48 minutes one way or 2.2 miles.
