This August we’re excited to offer a week-long lambada immersion in Washington, DC with some of the top international lambada instructors. Interest in this dance has been growing in North America and around the world, and this event offers a unique opportunity to learn from some of the top couples teaching internationally in a focused learning environment. You’ll have an opportunity for deep learning and lots of practice, plus lots of social dance time.
The week is made up of two different events:
LAMBADA INTENSIVE (Monday, August 4 - Friday, August 8)
Learn or improve your lambada from the ground up with this progressive, multi-level training. The program is made up of 30 hours of classes with:
- Ariel & Leticia (teaching in the US this year for the first time!)
- Iago & Vanessa
We have two different levels depending on your experience with lambada:
- Lambada Fundamentals - 10 hours of training plus practicas in the evenings (7:15-10:30pm) from Monday through Thursday, August 4-7
- Lambada Technique, Games, and Variations - 20 hours of training plus practicas in the afternoons (12:30-5:30pm) from Monday through Friday, August 4-8
Both programs are progressive and will build on each other, so these are available as either a 10-hour package or 30-hour package. This will give you an opportunity to really dive deep in your understanding of lambada.
All participants should be familiar with Brazilian zouk basics (e.g., soltinho, bonus) and those participating in the afternoons should have at least 6 months experience with lambada.
LAMBADA WEEKENDER (Friday, August 8 - Sunday, August 10)
We’ll end the week with a fun-filled weekender with workshops and socials. For those participating in the intensive, this will build on what you’ve learned and give you lots of time to learn, practice and dance together.

- Vinny & Jessica
We’ll have 9+ hours of classes and two nights of socials (Friday & Saturday).
The weekender is geared towards dancers who are comfortable with lambada basics and some head movement. Come dance, learn, and play together!
