Evening at the New Embassy of ZAMBIA

Step onto foreign soil as we travel halfway across the world without ever leaving the District for a multi-faceted unique Friday evening. Featuring a rare treat of Zambian food, drinks, music, fashion, diplomats, film, and more!

Prepared by a native Zambian Chef: You cannot experience anything more native than this! The chef will prepare a special buffet of dishes. Challenge your palates to the wonderful course (and desserts) as if fresh from her native homeland.

Nshima – made with corn meal, similar to polentaRice – plain and/or veggie (peas, carrots) riceSpinach in peanut sauceCollard greens or Kale.

Finkubala Kapenta – dry anchovies in a tomato and onion baseBeef stew

D) Diplomatic Greeting from the Ambassador:

Hear from Ambassador Kanyama and feel free to schmooze and network with him and the diplomatic staff, all of whom will be invited to this special evening.

E) Zambian Art:The embassy has arranged for the presentation of traditional Masks, Attire and Fabrics as well as other special artifacts and paintings unseen to most Americans’ eyes. The staff will be on hand to personally discuss the art’s origins and meaning with you.
