Best Buddies Friendship Walk

Join us on the iconic National Mall for the Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Washington, DC—an inspiring community event celebrating friendship, inclusion, and belonging for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

This free, family-friendly walk brings together more than 2,000 participants each year to raise awareness and support Best Buddies in Virginia & DC. Attendees can expect a fun and uplifting morning featuring live music, engaging activities, community booths, inspiring speakers, and, of course, a meaningful walk through one of DC’s most historic spaces.

The Friendship Walk is more than just a walk—it’s a celebration of connection and impact. Whether you’re walking with friends, coworkers, family, or your Best Buddy, you’ll be part of a powerful movement creating opportunities for people with IDD through one-to-one friendships, inclusive employment, leadership development, and inclusive living.

All ages and abilities are welcome. Come walk with us, meet new friends, and help build a more inclusive community—together.
