Learn to draw designs based on the symmetry of nature and inspired by traditions from around the world. In this workshop, you'll use a compass and straightedge to recreate beautiful patterns. Meanwhile, you'll develop a solid grounding in the language of symmetry in sacred ornamental art.
Throughout human history, many cultures have used geometry to make art, directly inspired by the rhythms and structures of life itself. Principles like symmetry and tessellation govern how crystals and plants grow. In this sense, geometric art is beyond time and place.
This program is presented in partnership with the Reed Society for Sacred Arts.
