About this event
Hosted by the Embassy of France, in honor of the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII in Europe and the decades of peace that followed.
The celebration will kick off with official remarks and national anthems.
A band will take the stage at 7:15pm to perform classics of the postwar era (swing, jazz, rock and more!); and later in the evening, DJ Tezrah will take over to play a set featuring contemporary European sounds.
A cash bar will serve champagne, wine and beer, as well as French cheese, charcuterie and other little bites
When American officials announced the end of the fighting in Europe, ecstatic crowds flooded the streets of New York and other major cities. Together, we will seek to re-create their joy.
