Join us in-person or virtually for this one-day course, designed to equip teachers who are new to leading computing with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to develop and implement a robust and engaging computing curriculum in their primary school.
We understand that taking on the role of computing lead can be daunting, and this course will provide practical strategies and support to help you succeed!

Info: This session will focus on the essential aspects of leading computing, including:
· The rationale for teaching computing and its importance in today's world.
· Defining the role and responsibilities of the computing subject leader.
· Exploring the four key areas of subject leadership.
· Understanding the Computing Quality Framework and its use in self-evaluation.
· Developing and implementing effective computing policies.
· Curriculum planning, including intent, implementation, and impact.
· Resource management and adaptive learning.
· The importance of CPD and enrichment opportunities.
· Effective online safety provision.
· Assessment strategies and evidencing learning in computing.
Info: This session will focus on strategies for supporting colleagues in delivering high-quality computing education:
· Identifying staff development needs through surveys, lesson observations, and pupil voice.
· Facilitating effective CPD, including inset days and drop-in sessions.
· Providing an example inset on teaching programming, covering key concepts, pedagogy, and progression.
· Analysing the impact of CPD on teacher confidence and classroom practice.
Info: This session will explore how to effectively integrate digital creativity into other subject areas:
· The benefits of digital creativity for enriching learning.
· An overview of the seven strands of digital creativity: animation, audio, digital art, digital presentation, images, video, and extended reality.
· Practical ideas and resources for each strand across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
· Additional ideas for using technology to enhance learning in other subjects.
