The Windrush Weekender event celebrates the arrival of the HMS Windrush. We showcase the achievements and talent of the first and second generations and the legacy the early arrivals left behind in the arts, music, and business. There will be a live band, DJ, a choir, and live performances by Caribbean artists, children, and young people from the community. Vendor stalls will serve African cuisine, and African Caribbean food will be served on the day. There will be a licensed bar serving rum punch, Caribbean beers and soft drinks. The event is designed to engage and showcase the arrival of the Windrush generation, and their offspring attendee and the event is designed to engage attendees with entertainment, food, and community-focused activities.
