About the event

Native Plant Walk with Bob Kennemer
Lathrop State Park is home to some of the most widely used edible and medicinal plants, but also one of the most deadly poisonous plants, water hemlock. Join local naturalist Bob Kennemer to learn the dos and don’ts of harvesting wild plants, along with a strong emphasis on safety and the environmental ethics of foraging.

Meet at the Martin Swim Beach parking lot. Bob will lead a 2-hour guided walk along Martin Lake. Bring sun protection, water, a notebook, and sturdy shoes.

This is a free event, but a parks pass is required.
